Claire Kariya, RD, CNSC

Claire Kariya is a Registered Dietitian who is recognized as a leading expert on the practice of blenderized tube feeding- blending food and fluids to create nutritious homemade meals for tube feeding.

Claire has been working as a clinical dietitian at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, for over 15 years. The focus of her clinical role is the care of tube fed patients. With many patients and families preferring a more natural tube feeding option, Claire began to focus on blenderized tube feeding and has since conducted two recent studies on this topic.

Claire believes in the option of blended food as an alternative or adjunct to standard tube feeding formula and supports requests for this approach both in hospital and at home. In addition to her clinical practice, Claire manages the Natural Tube Feeding resource website where her blended diet recipe book, online course and informative blog are available for anyone interested in learning more on this emerging area of tube feeding practice.
