Anais Villaluna is a Speech-Language Pathologist, Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders, and Certified Lactation Counselor. Anais earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2006 and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in 2008 from Texas Woman’s University. Anais has presented locally at TSHA Conventions, nationally at ASHA Conventions, and virtually with Feeding Matters. Anais practices in a variety of pediatric hospital settings including outpatient, acute care, PICU, and specialty clinics including the Multidisciplinary Feeding Clinic and The Collaborative Dysphagia Clinic with the otolaryngology section at Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands. Anais also serves on the IDDSI USTRIG Communication Work Team as well as the Pediatric Subcommittee as she has an interest in the standardization of thickened liquids in the pediatric population. Her other clinical interests include feeding/swallowing therapy strategies and interventions, fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, videofluoroscopic examination, and structural airway abnormalities as well as a myriad of gastrointestinal disorders that contribute to dysphagia in children.
Financial: Anais Villaluna receives a salary as a licensed speech-language pathologist at Texas Children’s Hospital. She is receiving a speaker fee from TalkTools for this course. She also receives compensation for presentations at local professional organizations on this topic.
