Course Description
Too often speech pathologists ignore the significance of Myofunctional Therapy because they do not have a clear understanding of the roll of a correct swallow pattern. A correct swallow plays a major role in the development of the mouth, respiration, balance, posture, hearing and gastrointestinal functioning to name a few. It coordinates multiple systems to correctly eat or produce well-articulated speech. The proper functioning of these systems, therefore, often need a team approach to create a successful outcome.
