Mary Billings MS, CCC-SLP/COM®

Mary Billings, M.S.,CCC,COM®  is a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist through the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She received bachelor’s degrees in both Speech and Hearing Science and Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and then went on to complete a master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Central Missouri.  She is the owner of Billings Speech Pathology Services, a private practice serving the greater Kansas City metropolitan area since 1994.  Mary later went on to complete the requirements to become a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM®) through the International Association of Oral Myology (IAOM) to support her ongoing interest and work in the field of orofacial myofunctional disorders.  She served as the IAOM’s first Mentoring Chair from 2008-2013 and was subsequently elected President of the IAOM where she served as President-Elect and Chair of the Nonprofit Governance Committee (2013-2015) and President from 2015-2017. In 2011, she was awarded the Connie Painter Distinguished Services award and in 2018 she was awarded the highly prestigious President’s Award for her accomplishments as President.  In 2012 she became an IAOM approved Continuing Education Instructor and currently teaches nationally and internationally on the topic.  In 2016, Mary was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Oral Motor Institute (OMI) where she continues to service and in 2017 she was chosen as a subject matter expert by the American Speech Language & Hearing Association to help review and update their clinical Practice Portal on Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders. She is a current member of ASHA, IAOM, AAPPSPA, AAPMD, and the OMI.

Mary is a past presidential of the International Association of Orofacial Myology and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Oral Motor Institute. She is a member of the:
