Participants learn to summarize the etiology of facial and airway growth and its implications for sleep apnea, apply Oral Placement Therapy methods as part of a broader speech and feeding treatment plan, and describe orthodontic approaches that influence speech, facial appearance, and airway health. Because airway health and orthodontics rarely get covered together in a single course, this session gives SLPs a clearer picture of when a referral for an orthodontic or airway evaluation is warranted.
