TalkTools Magenta Spoon (Textured)

TalkTools Magenta Spoon (Textured)

The TalkTools Magenta Spoon (Textured) shares the shallow, narrow bowl of the Magenta Spoon family and adds textured stimulation to the tongue and lower lip during spoon feeding. This variation is best suited for clients with decreased oral sensory responsiveness who benefit from additional sensory input to promote food acceptance and lip engagement.

Therapy Goals

  • Provide textured sensory input to the tongue and lower lip to increase oral awareness
  • Encourage acceptance of varied food textures through graduated sensory exposure
  • Promote upper and lower lip closure and active lip mobility during feeding
  • Support smaller bolus management for clients with swallowing or feeding difficulties
  • Facilitate hand-over-hand feeding assistance for clients with limited self-feeding skills
  • Textured surface adds sensory input on the tongue and lower lip during each spoon presentation
  • Ideal for clients with hyposensitivity or reduced oral sensory responsiveness
  • May encourage food texture acceptance as part of a feeding desensitization program
  • Shallow bowl reduces bolus size for safer, more controlled feeding
  • Ergonomic Comfort Grip Handle supports hand-over-hand assistance
  • Lightweight and dishwasher safe (top rack only)
  • Made in the USA; FDA-compliant, latex-free, lead-free, BPA-free, phthalate-free
  • Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and feeding therapists conducting spoon feeding programs
  • Clients with hyposensitivity or reduced responsiveness to oral sensory input
  • Children and adults with autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, or low oral tone
  • Clients working on food texture acceptance or feeding desensitization
  • Home carryover feeding programs for families and caregivers

Works well!

Definitely love these spoons specially the bump on the underside, perfect for extra sensory input. The smoothness of the edges are very safe, the hardness is also superb! Like you know it already that it can last long. Overall it is really perfect!

Maroon Spoon

The maroon spoon is one of my "go-to" feeding tools. The size, low edges, and shallow bowl make it a great tool for pediatric clients.

Textured Maroon Spoon

This spoon provides a variety of opportunity to utilize intentional outcomes for therapy goals. I used this spoon for a child post surgical oral reconstruction to address feeding goals that include multi-modality input. The shallow bowl of the spoon allows an opportunity to engage the upper lip for residue clearing of the bolus. The texture under the bowl allows for sensory input for the acceptance of the bowl of the spoon on the tongue. I am able to use this spoon for a variety of my clients! Thank you for creating this tool!
