INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING AND DISINFECTING TALKTOOLS PRODUCTS
When using TalkTools® "single-client-use" devices,
it is essential to clean and disinfect the tools between therapy sessions.
You should first inspect the tool's surfaces for breaks in integrity that would impair either cleaning or disinfecting. You should discard any product that no longer functions as intended or cannot be cleaned properly.
Cleaning
- SOAK: Place tool in a container of water with mild soap or disinfectant/detergent; this prevents drying of materials and makes cleaning easier and efficient; soak for 10–15 minutes.
- SCRUB: Gently scrub tool, removing all visible residue.
- RINSE: Rinse tool under running water until all residue is removed.
- DRY: Air dry in an open, well-ventilated area (ex., counter or table).
Between Cleanings: General Disinfection
Always pre-clean the tools before performing these disinfecting steps below.
Our TalkTools® Instructors recommend using PureGreen 24® disinfectant and deodorizer for the disinfecting process.
NOTE: Always read the instructions for use on the label associated with any disinfecting product you may use.
PureGreen 24® is used for the purpose of general disinfection. Disinfecting time varies (see instructions on the PureGreen 24® label).
Once PureGreen 24® disinfectant is applied to the tool for the appropriate time recommended on the PureGreen 24® instruction label, the tool should then be wiped dry with a clean towel. When used as directed, PureGreen 24® will provide residual protection for up to 24 hours after initial application.
For additional information on the general disinfection and control of bacteria that is accomplished with the use of this product, please refer to the label. You can also find all appropriate information regarding this product on its TalkTools product page.
