These colorful lip blocks are designed for use with the TalkTools Straw Kit. This technique can be used with very young children, as well as with adults. It has been used successfully with clients who evidence severe cognitive deficits as well as those with normal intelligence. Therapeutic straw drinking is an effective technique for achieving tongue retraction, lip protrusion and inhibiting tongue thrust, skills that are needed for speech clarity and feeding safety.
