TalkTools® Straw #4
Straw #4 is the fourth straw in the OPT™ Straw Drinking Hierarchy. As clients progress up the hierarchy, the difficulty of drawing liquid through each straw increases: Straw #1 is the easiest and Straw #8 is the most difficult. Working through the hierarchy systematically builds lip and cheek strength alongside tongue control needed for safe, efficient drinking, and supports the muscle movements that also underlie clear speech production.
