This 3-hour course specifies distinctions between speech sounds and productions and takes a deep-dive into the necessary components for production clarity. Speech components provide the framework for comprehensive analysis and personalized, evidence-based therapy strategies. Methods to analyze the cranio-facial-oral-respiratory (CFOR) systems are provided as well as practical therapy techniques. 

Learning Outcomes

The participant will be able to:

  1. List the right essential components of speech production and understand their connections. 

  2. Explain the meaning of the "speech operating zone" and provide an overview of analysis. 

  3. Describe the two types of lingual stabilization plus therapy strategies.

  4. Perform an intra-oral sensory analysis, interpret the results, and implement therapy options. 

  5. List and explain how to analyze at least three Cranio-Facial-Oral-Respiratory elements and why they are relevant in speech production.
