Course Description

TalkTools Instructor and dysphagia expert, Colette Ellis, will be discussing the significance of the 12 cranial nerves upon other systems in the human body, with an emphasis on swallowing and feeding for pediatric clients. Instruction will include identifying the 6 pairs of cranial nerves, which systems each pair impacts, assessing functionality and impacts on swallowing and feeding!

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to: 

1. Define what neuroplasticity is.
2. Describe the two current perspectives on neuroplasticity.
3. Explain how neuroplasticity changes with age.
4. List at least 4 benefits gained from neuroplasticity.
5. Identify at least 4 examples of how to rewire the brain via neuroplasticity
