Course Description | Parents of and infants with feeding difficulties, children self-conscious about speech issues, and adults with poor health outcomes can suffer from stress and issues related to ankyloglossia.
Trish Wierenga, FNP-BC, IBCLC, RLC, PMH-C will present case studies (including the case of her own son!) of ankyloglossia-related issues and improved outcomes after frenectomy.
Learning Outcomes | Participants will be able to:
- List two signs and symptoms of ankyloglossia presented in case studies of varying client ages.
- Define the relationship of care and management of ankyloglossia to the improved outcomes after frenectomy in various age groups.
- Describe the impact of feeding difficulties on the physical and mental well-being of the family.
