Course Description

Adults with traumatic brain injury often experience cognitive and executive function difficulties that significantly affect their ability to manage everyday activities, relationships, work, and community participation. This course provides clinicians with practical tools for identifying cognitive and executive function deficits, selecting appropriate assessment approaches, and developing functional treatment strategies. 
Participants will learn how to move beyond test scores to address real-world challenges such as planning, organization, time management, problem-solving, self-monitoring, and task completion. Through clinical examples and practical applications, the course will equip participants with strategies they can incorporate into assessment and intervention with adults with TBI.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify cognitive and executive function deficits related to adults with traumatic brain injury.
  2. Describe assessment and treatment approaches for adults with traumatic brain injury.
  3. Apply strategies to address real-world executive function challenges in adults with traumatic brain injury.
