Course Description | This course will teach how to conduct an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation” and four month follow-up “Program Plan Update”, including interviews with the referring SLP and parent, with a six-year-old child with the diagnosis of inter-dental and lateral production of /s/, /z/, /∫/ (sh) and /t∫/ (ch) and “j”.
Learning Outcomes | Participants will be able to:
1. Therapists will be able to complete an “Initial Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Evaluation for Feeding and Speech.”
2. Therapists will be able to apply the skills learned in this course to conduct a “Program Plan Update.”
3. Therapists will be able to complete a program plan including: Sensory, Oral Phase Feeding, OPT and Speech techniques.
4. Therapists will be able to apply OPT activities in conjunction with traditional speech therapy to improve speech clarity.
